I began this P90X journey two weeks ago day. There are about 9 weeks left to go at this point. Already I'm beginning to see results. Some are exactly what I had hoped for, and others, not so much.
My first run through the Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X workouts, I could hardly make half way through. Today, I set personal records (for this phase of my life) in each exercise! I also made it through Ab Ripper X, the complete work out, every one of the 349 sit ups. I'm not gonna lie, I was crushing the Pause button on my remote, but I really wanted to get through the entire routine. (Pausing and taking breaks are officially sanctioned!)
During Kenpo on Saturday, I also noticed that muscle around my knees were starting to get defined. Whoohoo!
The bad part, is really like a good news-bad news exercise. I haven't lost any weight. In fact, I've gained almost 7 lbs. It's not like I'm eating much more than usual, but that there is substantial muscle gain in the last few weeks. Fat seems to be burning off my arms, legs, and face, though my spare tire still remains! So, I'm really considering doing the meal plan like my brother warned me before I began the program! Tim, you are right!
Overall, I'm really happy with the results. P90X works!

Observation 1) I thought about putting down some crazy nickname, one that you would read and instantly go: "haha, yeah. that's totally him.", but I realized I don't really have one that I either like or that you would recognize. I also realized that this is probably my first blog comment for any site EVER.
Obsv 2) P90X does indeed work! Getting you into the habit of eating right and feeling thuroughly worked out takes a bit, but boy what a ride. I did it last Summer (Tynitra completed it within the last two weeks, drop her a line to ask about it since her experience is fresh). I lost 15lbs and about 4% body fat, and I decreased my back pain in general and while playing volleyball, and increased my feelings of confidence, self-worth, and downright sexiness. I was able to go "shopping" in my own closet, putting on clothes I hadn't worn in 2yrs (slightly out of style, but how they fit like a dream!). One thing I had to do that I never expected? Shop for new underwear. I figured my clothes might fit differently, but I never considered the damage I could do to an elastic waistband over time. What a sad, and yet joyous day. Needless to say, shopping for new chones was a huge factor in the sexiness quotient. Out with the tighty-whiteys and in with the semi-designer briefs and trunks!
Since you've already put up your Day 0 photo, it would be cruel to not at least post Days 28, 56 and 90. I also would suggest following Phase 3 of the eating plan for the entire time. I took the whole nutrition guide to a dietician and was able to determine that that phase was the one to follow. The others can be traumatic, hard to follow, and ultimately unnecessary. Whereas Phase 3 is basically just a standard (doctor reccommended and good-for-you-healthy) diet. Keep up the good work (and all your photos, clips and postings) and let me know if I can offer any advice or help in any other way. Blessings on you brother.
